The Best Revenge

Is living well. Or singing well. And acting well. Just ask Jennifer Hudson. After being unceremoniously cut from that hack of a show, American Idol, she burns it down on every front in this film.

Dreamgirls

I didn't think anyone could belt out soul-wrenching stuff like Jennifer Holiday did in Dreamgirls on Broadway, apparently I was wrong. I have a feeling we will all be paying $110 a seat to see Hudson on Broadway some day soon.

See this one in theatres, you wont regret it.

9.5/10

Patti Cake doesn't know what she's talking about (no offense)

Agreed Steve, incredible! I've never seen people in a theatre applaud so loudly for a film performance, ever.

The black lady sitting next to me actually screamed "Go on now, you tear that shit up, girl!" when she was belting out "And I'm telling you ..."

Patti is allowed to not like her but Jennifer Hudson will still get an Oscar nom, if not walk away with it. Everyone loves a comeback story.

Okay...I'll forgive Patti :) Here in Phoenix, the audience reacted the same way...it was like a concert. "ALL RIGHT HONEY...SING IT SISTER!" I loved the reaction.

Steve, I read that JH got the nom for Best Supporting Actress from both the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild.

Its a no-brainer that she'll get the Oscar nom now.

You'll love it Matt. Yep she does some serious butt-kicking. Maybe she'll let Simon kiss her Oscar, lol.

I've been holding off seeing this one. No real reason though. It looks like this film and Jennifer Hudson in particularly has touched a lot of people. I need to catch this one and Children of Men. Have you reviewed that one yet? lol.
